Xiaobo Yang was born and raised in Nanyang, Henan province. He attended Tsinghua University in Beijing, where he worked in the laboratory of Prof. Hua Fu and graduated with a Ph.D. in 2013. For his postdoctoral work, Xiaobo pursued studies in green organic synthesis as a CSC fellow, working with Prof. Chao-Jun Li at McGill University.
